This weeks Om Chef Prep Kit
Slow Cooked Beans: Black beans, garbanzos
 Grains:  Brown short grain (the yummy one) rice, Polenta
Fresh Herbs:  parsley, dill, cilantro, mint (herbs are xlnt added to veggies or grains) 
Greens:   mixed baby greens, baby spinach
Veggies:
Steamed broccoli
Steamed Cauliflower

Shredded raw purple cabbage

The simplest one dish meals to prepare with your kit ingredients:
 •big mixed salads with 4 or more veggies, whole grains, herbs, beans
• wraps with a variety of veggies, beans and herbs 
• the 'bowl'.  The bowl is any whole grain with slow cooked beans or legumes and topped with veggies and herbs of your choice.
Beans are great mashed with a splash of olive oil and herbs for an instant hummus, great in wraps or as a veggie dip.
Om vinaigrette or a squeeze of lemon or lime is excellent drizzled on warmed veggies or whole grains.


Break the rules! If you have a recipe that calls for brown rice, try it with quinoa, spelt or any whole grain.  
A recipe that calls for spinach would also work with most any other green as well. Red beans can take the place of kidney beans, black beans in place of white beans and edamame is an easy lima bean sub. Om cooking is about using what's fresh, and feeling free to make your own adjustments to a recipe, or even make up your own recipe!
